EXCITED!!!

When i first went to college for massage, i kinda knew i would want to go into pregnancy massage.  As i learned more about massage and the various modalities i could specialize in, i added getting my doula certification as a goal of mine as well.  Now five years later, two years of not actively practicing massage, and three births to attend before i am a certified Massage Doula, I am finally attending my first  birth!

And what makes it even better, is that i get to attend the birth of my second little nephew

My little sister is having her first baby, and hopefully, over the two weeks that i will be in Idaho, that little guy will decide to make his entrance.

I am a little nervous, as i feel out of practice and a bit unprepared as all my massage doula literature is packed in boxes far away in Idaho.  But mostly excited!  Excited to have a nice long visit with family.  Excited to help my sister through this incredible rite of passage and into motherhood, and excited to try my hand at actually being a massage doula.

Maybe someday, i can actually assume that title as my job title?  Or maybe i will shoot for midwife :)
